Technical University Aachen In Search of Climbers For Participation in Survey

Sports medical online survey to sport climbing

12/08/15, Aachen, Berlin: The institute for work and social medicine of the RWTH Aachen (Rheinisch Westfälische Technische Hochschule) is in search of participants for several online surveys, especially sport climbers, who can participate in diverse questioning.


Sport climbing is a comparative harmless sport. Unfortunately there are some risks included. Many questions in sport medical counseling can be answered properly. Therefore the institute of the RWTH wants to collect data with surveys to the themes injuries, overload damages, pregnancy, first aid skills and mountaineering in the Saxon Swiss, to get a better insight.

The survey is led by Jan Drastig and Priv.Doz. Dr. Thomas Küpper of the institute for work and social medicine at the RWTH Aachen. Dr. Küppers also is a member of the medical commission of the UIAA.

As in all quantitative scientific surveys it is crucial to gain as much participants as possible to be able to make substantiated conclusions.
