Skylotec Recalls Via Ferrata Sets SKYRIDER
Missing safety pin in the first generation can cause a blocking

09/15/12: Neuwied:
The German Company Skylotec recalls their via ferrata series SKYRIDER. In the first generation of these sets no safety pins in the interlock bolt of the special sleight have been installed.

In exceptional cases this can lead to an overturning of the interlock bolt. This bolt can run out the guidance and lead to a hard handling or full blocking of the item. Additional to that the first SKYRIDER generation is equipped with a four knurl construction, which can also cause a cant and therewith a blocking of the sleight.

Only the series with the four knurl construction is affected.

According with Skylotec the items of the later generations have been reconstructed in material and handling and are totally safe and can be used without any problem.

The SKYRIDER series has been honored with the 2009 Outdoor-Award and is on the market since season 2009/2010.
