Petzl: Checklist Against Counterfeits

Petzl introduces checklist against counterfeits

Crolles, France: The company Petzl published a checklist for their customers to identify if one bought potential counterfeit equipment or not.

Motive is the recent discovery of a Chinese production that optically fits the originals that good that identification for the normal user is barely possible. (News of February 14th 2011).

Also in the past again and again counterfeits of Petzl products have been found but often easy to identify because of missing logos etc. The recent counterfeits are a serious danger, caused by the difficulty to identify them. That is the reason for an extension of the recent product warnings. It is supposed that there are still counterfeits on the market and on sale. Petzl appeals again to only buy from authorized dealers and if necessary only by contacting the official distributor in your country.
